Diary of a Prosecutor menceritakan Lee Sun Woong (Lee Sun Kyun) yang bekerja sebagai seorang jaksa di kantor distrik Jinyoung. Ia adalah orang yang santai dan tidak ada keinginnan untuk berhasil. Tetapi diri dalam dirinya berbeda dari apa yang terlihat dari luar.
Ada lagi seorang jaksa, yakni Cha Myung Joo (Jung Ryeo Won). Ia adalah seorang jaksa elit dengan karir cukup sukses di Kantor Kejaksaan Pusat Seoul.
Suatu hari, Cha Myung Joo bertukar kantor kejaksaan di wilayah Jinyoung. Bagaimana suasana dari kantor Cha Myung Joo? Apakah ia dapat bekerja dengan baik disitu?
